Being Green... or keeping things that way.
A couple of years ago we began to redirect the grey water from our washing machine out into the back yard. We had virtually no lawn left due to army worm and continual drought.
I bought 30 meters of grey water pipe, a connection and a saddle clip, and rigged up a system of directing the water outside.

Now when we wash our clothes, the outlet pipe can be attached to the piping through the laundry window, which is helping to keep our backyard green.
Of course we are using environmentally friendly washing powder.

What a great idea!! We have a couple of rain barrels, but I never would have thought of the washing water. It seems so wasteful ($ and water) to keep a lawn green during the summer. This might be just do the trick :0)
