July 18

The girls and I went to see the wedding dress exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum (no photos allowed so no pretty dresses to show).

While Andrew and Oliver went back into the Natural History Museum next door.

After lunch we caught a rivercat along the Thames to Greenwich.
The sun was out.
The river was brown.
The boat was crowded.
The scenery was lovely.

it is fair to say that not all family members were excited about Greenwich's sights as I was

 looking towards the Royal Observatory

Tired and slightly sunburnt, we sat inside the boat on the way home.

Then it was home to Tom & Anita's place for a delicious picnic on the terrace for dinner.

July 17

After breakfast overlooking St Pancras Station we headed to Oxford Street to meet Katie, who was in London staying with her brother and his family.

We planned a morning of shopping.

Oliver not so keen on spending time in a cosmetics shop

I was very pleased to be able to spend some time in Liberty.

not purchased

We then wandered down Oxford Street stopping off at many stores for the girls to spend their birthday money.

 time for a cupcake stop

a yummy discovery - sparkling elderflower drink

Oliver and Andrew gave up on the shopping and visited the Natural History Museum.

We all met up again for a picnic lunch in Hyde Park - sandwiches constructed on our knees.

July 16

Before we drove back to London to return the hire car, Andie took us to Bristol for the morning.

Jemima & Andie

We visited what was John Wesley's church and home.
Again so much history, so many amazing stories to read.

Then it was off for an Italian lunch before we drove back to Bath.

After the drive back to London, with me navigating (never good), we found the hotel in Kings Cross that was to be our home for the next two nights.
